What we want is simple: We want to protect a healthy childhood and world for our kids.

We reject the narrative that AI is inevitable, that digital is always preferable to analog, and that we must allow Big Tech to invade, control, and profit from our data.

We want educators, school boards, and policy makers to prioritize developmentally appropriate and evidence based approaches to teaching and nurturing our children.

We believe that we have the right:

• To opt out and opt our children out of having our images, voices, and personal data recorded or used for AI training, with or without our knowledge or consent;
• To opt out of individual tech platforms or assignments, and to be given non-tech versions of assignments at parity;
• To decide when and how technology, including screen-based devices and AI products, are used at school;
• To know and participate in decisions around how AI training and products are offered to or used with our children;
• To know when and how AI is being used in curriculum or assignment design, grading, feedback, or communications;
• To know when and how schools and administrators are being offered or are receiving money or anything else of value from private organizations such as technology companies;
• To protect the privacy of our families, and to know how our schools intend to protect the privacy and data of our children.
